Yarra Valley Adventures

Adventures
Chocolate Factory
The best adventures always start with chocolate!

The Yarra Valley has so many great attractions it's hard to choose just a few to fill only one day. But luckily for us, it is a mere hour down the freeway to get there, so going back for more is never difficult.

Every daycation in the Victorian wine region must, must, must either start or end with a visit to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie. It is a real life 'Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory' with treats and sights to have young and old jaws dropped with awe.

The stunning grounds (the perfect slope for rolling down)
I don't want to spoil the experience of what you see when you walk through the entry doors so here is a selection of images from the current seasonal line. There is also a great cafe at the factory with a considerable menu - their hot chocolates are to die for.

Healesville was our main point of call for this journey. It is a beautiful town with some quaint shops on the main street, an Organic Farmers Market and my go-to lunch destination Innocent Bystander.

I really enjoyed this market. It was small but the produce is high quality and all of the merchants are super friendly. Definitely worth a look.

After lunch at Innocent Bystander we made our way back to Melbourne via Four Pillars Gin Distillery and the Yarra Glen Racecourse Market, more on lunch and the distillery later.

Yarra Glen Racecourse Market is HUGE! Many of the stalls were filled with items you could get at your local $2 shop but there was still a good number of local artisans selling hand made pieces for your not so usual gift or souvenir needs.
