Pound Bend River Walk, Warrandyte

Adventures
Victoria, Australia

Approximately 40 minutes from Melbourne's CBD you can find a national park that is so iconically Australian it will have your Aussie accent cranking up to a 12, and on loop in your head will be GANGgajang's Sounds of Then. All that is missing is the red dirt (thank goodness, have you ever tried cleaning that stuff off? Nightmare.)
The breeze kisses the leaves of gum trees who whisper 'I love you' back, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos serenade you with their unique song, skink lizards curiously peek at you from a safe distance scurrying away when you catch a glimpse of them and the dry foliage from a hot summer crunches satisfyingly under foot. After your hike you are rewarded with the opportunity of a dip in the swimming hole by Pound Bend Tunnel, I recommend bringing a pair of shoes that you don't mind ruining in the water for ease of exploring as the rocks can be sharp.
If you live in Melbourne and have never been to Pound Bend you must go, it is so serene and beautiful. I will be back again for sure! For international visitors it is a great place to experience the Aussie bush on an easy walking trail that all ages will be able to navigate.

I hope you enjoyed my photo diary of todays adventure. What other walks are good to go on in the Melbourne area?
